#WFD – Chakalaka and Wors

POLOKWANE – What could be more South African than boerewors and chakalaka?
Whether you braai the wors, grill, prepare it in a pot or in the oven, this dish is sure to be a lekker hit with the family.
Ingredients
- 125ml cooking oil
- 1 x large onion, finely chopped
- 2 x green peppers, finely chopped
- 1 x tsp Robertsons Peri-Peri
- 1 x tbsp rajah hot curry powder
- 6 x large tomatoes, grated
- 4 x large carrots, peeled and grated
- 1 x tin baked beans in tomato sauce
- 1 x Knorrox Chilli Beef Stock Cube
- 2 x tbsp KNORR Curry Vegetable Soup
- 400g boerewors, grilled
Method
- Warm the oil in a pot for 1 minute
- Add onions and green pepper and fry together with the Robertsons Peri-peri and Rajah Hot Curry Powder until onions are soft
- Add the grated carrots, tomatoes, baked beans and Knorrox Chilli Beef Stock Cube, and mix well
- Allow the mixture to cook for 15 – 20 minutes on medium heat
- Stir the mixture every 5 minutes to ensure that it does not stick, and becomes smooth
- Mix the Knorr Curry Vegetable Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste
- Add it to the pot and allow your dish to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continuously until it becomes thick
- Serve with boerewors and pap
