A statement by Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the three girls, between the ages of 16 and 18 years old, were walking home from school on Tuesday afternoon when they were threatened by two men armed with pangas. The men then ordered them to a secluded area in the nearby bushes.

The men took turns in raping two of the three girls, before fleeing the scene. The trio managed to walk home and reported the matter to elders who alerted the police.

Ngoepe says two cases of rape were opened and he urged anyone with more information to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501, the crime stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
