Mokopane schools to close due to shutdown protests
Most schools in town will be closed tomorrow, 2 August, due to the planned protest.
MOKOPANE – Following discussions with the Department of Education regarding the current unstable situation in town the principal of Laerskool Krugerpark , Johan Vertongen, made the decision to close the school to ensure the safety of the learners and teachers. Other schools which will also be closed is includes Hoërskool Piet Potgieter, Waterberg High, Mokopane Primary, Mokopane English Combined School, Potgietersrus Primary and Sunrise Super Kids.

The Mogalakwena Municipality has since released a press statement distancing itself from the shutdown protest march organised in town for Friday, 2 August. They urged residents to avoid the affected areas.
