POLOKWANE – Review spoke to some of the girls soccer team players at Pemps to find out why soccer was their sport of choice and what they have to say about people who don’t believe girls should be playing soccer because it’s a boys’ sport.
Boitumelo Nkadimeng – “I love soccer because it is fun and easy to learn. There aren’t too many rules and for boys to think it’s a boy’s only sport is not my problem.”
Kelebogile Sethemane – “I like it, it’s different from any other sport. When boys say that girls can’t play soccer, silence is the best response to a fool.”
Musa Shilubane – “It’s a passionate. I started playing this year and I found that it was fun. It doesn’t matter what others think about it, as long as you love what you do.”
Vhuisedzani Lithole – “For the love of the game. You don’t need qualifications to play soccer whether you are a boy and girl, this is a free country.”
Bontle Ratale – “It is a talent and I have been playing since grade 1. I don’t entertain people who think girls cant play soccer because it is a boys sport”
