LIMPOPO – Four men armed with an AK 47, R5 rifle and 9mm pistols, accosted the owner of the restaurant at around 20:45 while he was closing for the evening.
Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said it is alleged the men fired several shots at the restaurant’s entrance and instructed the owner to open the door.
During the incident they robbed him of cash, demanded his car keys and fled the scene in his bakkie and a security vehicle. The two vehicles were later found abandoned a short distance away from the crime scene, Ngoepe explained.
A manhunt for the men has since been launched and the police urged anyone with information that can lead to the apprehension of these robbers to contact Captain Du Plessis at 082 565 7611 or 014 784 4100.
