The Department of Transport and Community Safety issued a warning about an alleged recruitment scam regarding the recent advertising of 40 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities.
Departmental Spokesperson Joel Seabi in a statement indicated that the department was aware of the potential recruitment scam whereas perpetrators who are claiming to be officials of the department are allegedly targeting prospective applicants.
Seabi said that the so-called officials will then indicate to the prospective applicant that he or she had been short-listed and that fitness forms should be completed at the Polokwane Provincial Hospital.
A R420 doctor’s consultation fee is also then payable at a certain chain store’s money market service.
Seabi warned that the department would never request money from a person who applied for any job, internship or WIL position with the department.
Seabi requested that applicants who have paid in money in connection with the scam to email their details to legodir@dot.limpopo.gov.za.
