Four “dangerous” awaiting trials prisoners escape from holding cells in Hoedspruit

The four prisoners, between the ages of 31 and 41-years-old, escaped through the roof of the holding cells on Sunday afternoon, 3 November.

LIMPOPO – Police in Hoedspruit have launched a manhunt for four awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from police holding cells on Sunday afternoon, 3 November 2019.

Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, says the four prisoners, between the ages of 31 and 41-years-old, escaped from the cells through the roof.

The escapees are identified as:

Jacky Frans Sekgobela (41) was arrested for house and business robbery.

“This escapee committed several crimes in Limpopo and Mpumalanga and is regarded as dangerous,” Mojapelo said.

Neverdie Dyayani Baloyi (39) is facing charges of murder, rape, house and business robbery. He is regarded as extremely dangerous.

Vanrooi Pompi Khosa (36) is facing two charges of house breaking and theft.

Wilson Letebele (31) is facing charges of house robbery and house breaking. There is no photo available for this prisoner.

“A case of escaping from lawful custody has been opened and investigations into the circumstances of the escape have already begun. The community at large is warned that these four criminals are dangerous, they must not try to apprehend them but must instead inform the police quickly,” Mojapelo said.
