No indications of land occupation opposite the Sasol garage in Nelson Mandela Drive in Seshego could be detected on Monday afternoon after Polokwane Municipality warned that occupation of the vacant land would be illegal.
Amidst rumours that the land will be grabbed on Friday, Spokesperson for the municipality Thipa Selala said that the land belongs to the municipality and that it is earmarked for development. “The municipality together with other law enforcement agencies are monitoring the situation and will remove anyone who occupies the land. It is only the municipality that can distribute the land following legal processes,” Selala said and added that the municipality urges members of the public not to be duped by people who collect monies from them in order to obtain land.
