High speed crash claims life of woman on N1-25

14 occupants sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor

LIMPOPO – The collision happened after a Toyota Quantum lost control and overturned on the N1-25 Ysterberg pass at 11:30 on Sunday, 1 December.

A woman in her thirties died on the scene and a further 14 others sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor, reads a statement issued by the Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala.

One was critically injured, another sustained serious injuries and 12, including the driver, were left with minor injuries. All injured occupants were taken to a hospital in Polokwane for medical treatment.

According to the statement, the driver of the Quantum was driving faster than the speed limit and lost control of the vehicle.
