Sinthumule teacher wins provincial excellence award
Fulufhedzani Mulaudzi from Daniel Mubva Primary School has won a provincial teaching award and will represent Limpopo at the national awards.
LIMPOPO – A passionate teacher from Daniel Mubva Primary School in the Sinthumule area, Fulufhedzani Zwivhuya Mulaudzi, has won an excellence award at the provincial annual teaching awards ceremony held at The Ranch Resort outside Polokwane recently.
The Department of Basic Education commended teachers who go beyond the call of duty to ensure that learners receive quality education.
Those who know Mulaudzi and her excellence in teaching mathematics at the General Education and Training (GET) level were not surprised when she was announced as the winner in her category.
She will now represent the province at the National Teaching Awards, which will be held in Gauteng at the beginning of October.
A dream come true
Speaking to the CV, Mulaudzi said she was excited about receiving the accolade.
“It is a dream come true to scoop this award, and I dedicate it to my learners. I would like to thank God, my learners and colleagues who are always supportive and make my job easier. I want to develop our community by producing the best learners who will become the doctors, lawyers and engineers of tomorrow,” she said.
Mulaudzi said she was determined to do well at the national awards and return with another accolade while proudly representing Limpopo and the Vhembe West circuit.
“Being a teacher is not simply about receiving a salary. No, dedicate yourself to your work. Love the community you are working with and be part of that community’s development,” she said.
MEC congratulates teachers
Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya congratulated all teachers who represented the province’s districts and won awards.
Ramakhanya said the awards were intended to encourage teachers to work hard towards improving the quality of education in South Africa.
“We have seen positive results since we started the idea of the award ceremony some years ago. This creates a spirit of hard work and helps to improve results in our country,” she said.
Call for more participation
She encouraged more teachers to participate in the National Teaching Awards.
“All schools must participate in the National Teaching Awards because, as a teacher, you don’t know how much you are worth until you are measured against other teachers. We have the best teachers, but they are not participating,” Ramakhanya said.
