Planned water outage for Polokwane, Mankweng on Wednesday

A planned eight-hour water outage will affect Polokwane City, Mankweng, Dalmada and surrounding areas tomorrow, October 7.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane Municipality has said there will be a planned interruption to the bulk water supply from the Ebenezer Water Treatment Plant.

The interruption is due to scheduled repairs to four critical pipeline leaks at the Ebenezer Scheme.

When and how long

According to Lepelle Northern Water, the repair work is expected to take approximately eight hours and is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, October 7.

Areas affected

The interruption is expected to significantly affect water distribution to areas supplied by the Ebenezer Scheme, including:

  • Polokwane City
  • Dalmada
  • Mankweng
  • University of Limpopo
  • ZCC Church
  • Maribe Thema
  • Segwashe
  • Mothapo
  • Sophie Mamabolo
  • Surrounding areas

Olifantspoort Plant unaffected

The Olifantspoort Water Treatment Plant will continue operating without disruption and will continue supplying areas within its service network.

Water supply to resume upon completion

Water supply will resume immediately upon completion of the repair works.

Residents in affected areas are urged to use available water sparingly and make the necessary preparations for the duration of the interruption.
