Car, truck collision on N1 south leaves two dead

LIMPOPO – Two people, aged 30 and 34, died after the vehicle they were travelling in collided head on with a truck on the N1 near Mookgophong on Monday.

The incident happened on the N1-25 at around 19:00.

A report issued by the Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala reads that the driver of a Kia Picanto lost control of the vehicle and collided head-on with a Volvo HMV (heavy motor vehicle).

The driver and the passenger died on the scene.

The exact cause of the collision will form part of the police investigation.
