Get the cut crease make-up just right this New Years Eve

Makeup artist and founder of Glamfair, Caroline Seabi gives some tips on how to apply bright cut crease eye-shadow makeup.

POLOKWANE – She plays around with yellow and touches of red colours and explains that if the eye colour is done right, a cut crease will change your makeup game if one has a medium to heavy fold.

“Cut crease lifts your eyes, makes them pop and makes them appear more lively and open. If you are new to the technique, a good tip is to keep the intensity on the outer corner of the eyes,” she said.

To perfect the cut crease makeup, Caroline advises one to start slow and build the intensity to achieve the most natural look.

“The best way to apply the different colours of the cut crease makeup is to do it with an eyelid brush and then smooth it out with your ring finger because it is a finger known to be very gentle. Look straight into the mirror and place a line where you want your new fold to appear, and start to build the shadow over the line blending upward,” she added.

She explained that to keep her makeup look natural and fresh, she blends her cut crease a little more than usual.

“The cut crease makeup technique defines that line, extending it slightly above the natural fold with a few clever tricks. You can also make your eye-brows pop by lining it with a concealer at the bottom to give it shape, while still looking natural,” she said.

Makeup artist and founder of Glamfair, Caroline Seabi says the extra space created on the eyelids will offer a more extensive canvas to show off your favourite eye-shadows.

She adds that cut crease make-up shows off and widens your eyes by creating the illusion of added depth. “Cut-crease will open them up for a beautiful, doe-eyed look. The extra space created on the lids will offer a more extensive canvas to show off your favourite eye-shadows,” she added. She advised that if anyone is throwing makeup away, thinking that it is old or does not work, they might be mistaken.

“I have old makeup that I got back in varsity and I never thought I was going to need it until now. I found a way to make any kind of makeup work no matter what.

“Try be creative with your eye colours and look more stylish. Match it with your clothes, handbag or jewellery,” Caroline added.
