Power failure interrupts water supply

Water supply will reportedly be restored once the power supply has been restored.

POLOKWANE – A power failure at the Olifantspoort Plant has resulted in no water being pumped to Polokwane supply areas.

The Polokwane Municipality issued a statement to confirm this. According to the municipality’s Spokesperson, Thipa Selala, Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) has reported this matter to Eskom for urgent attention.

The supply problem will affect Ga-Maja, Ga-Chuene, Thokgwaneng, Penina Park, all Ivy Park Extensions, Nirvana, the city area, extensions 40, 44, 65 and 71 as well as Seshego.

Water supply will reportedly be restored once the power supply has been restored.

Those areas who do have water supply are advised to use it sparingly.

The municipality reminded residents that they can report any water related challenges to the municipal water helpline at 015 290 2376 / 2629.
