Limpopo spokesperson’s suspension declared unfair labour practice

The suspension of Phuti Seloba, Provincial Government Spokesperson, was declared procedurally unfair

POLOKWANE – The suspension of Phuti Seloba, Provincial Government Spokesperson, was declared procedurally unfair and the Office of the Premier was ordered to uplift the suspension with effect of 17 February 2020.
This finding was made by the General Public C Service Sectoral Bargaining Council on 10 February.
The Office of the Premier also has to pay Seloba an amount equal to four months’ salary.

Seloba was placed on precautionary suspension with immediate effect in November 2018 and at the time he told Review that he would oppose the suspension through the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) on the basis that he had not been given the opportunity to make representations.
