[VIDEO] Illegal gold mine discovered in Limpopo
The police on Thursday, 13 February discovered an illegal gold mine in Malamulele during the ongoing operation, Swara Tsotsi.

LIMPOPO – The Malamulele operation was led by MEC for Transport and Community Safety Mr Namane Dickson Masemola and the Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Policing Major General Scheepers.
In a video Masemola explained that the police received a tip-off about the illegal mining activity taking place at the site of an abandoned mine. The team reacted and made the discovery.
Operation Swara Tsotsi is a multidisciplinary which comprised members of the police, Traffic Police, Correctional Services, Immigration officials from Home Affairs, Community Safety, Local Municipality and SARS.
Other operation successes include the closure of two supermarkets found to be selling expired food, the confiscation of illicit cigarettes and the arrests of over 50 people on charges ranging from stock theft, armed robbery, intimidation, assault GBH and malicious damage to property. Three owners of liquor outlets were also fined for non-compliance with the Liquor Act.
