Tharollo Foundation leads the way for youth to succeed
The Tharollo Foundation started their operations in 2015 by assisting learners at high schools in the villages of Botlokwa, Ga-Muila, Sekgosese and Thohoyandou with information regarding the various career paths available to them.
LIMPOPO – They are able to advise, educate and help learners apply at various institutions of higher learning and bursaries as most schools from the villages are underprivileged and do not have access to information.
Tharollo Foundation does not focus on schools only. They host youth summits where they encourage young people to work collectively in starting businesses through entrepreneurship as it is the only restorative to unemployment. They are associated with various orphanages where they are able to donate clothes and food with donations from supermarkets and retailers in Botlokwa, where they donate school uniforms to learners in need.

The Chairperson, Tokollo Mailula explained that the majority of the members are students who sometimes use their own money to help the needy.”We mainly work with Muila Drop-in Centre where we donated jerseys during winter last year. We, unfortunately, did not have enough for all of the children and it was painful to think they are going to freeze throughout winter.”
“They have a good relationship with social workers from Tshipale and lawyers that are a part of the foundation where they assist with cases of child abuse. They also have platforms where victims can share their stories and receive assistance.” We realised that many people are stressed, depressed and full of anger and that is why we implemented programmes for such to be spoken out about and advised.”If the issue is more serious, we refer them to relevant people we work with.” Tokollo added.
The foundation depends on sponsors to help the communities and be able to donate to orphanages. People who would like to sponsor or donate anything can contact Tokollo at 081 710 6050.
