#WFD – Corn wrapped in bacon

Bake in the oven at 200 C for 15 minutes or until the bacon is crispy, basting frequently, then remove from the oven and serve

POLOKWANE – If you’re looking for a different meal for dinner tonight then this dish is just for you.

What’s for Dinner says this recipe brings the braaimasters favourite side dish to new and exciting heights with the yummy addition of bacon.

Ingredients

  1. 4 corn on the cob
  2. 100g margarine
  3. 60ml KNORR Roasted Vegetables Veggie Bake Sauce
  4. 8 large slices of bacon

Method

  1. Remove the outer husk of the corn cobs and place into a large pot of water
  2. Bring to the boil and allow to cook for 10 minutes or until just tender
  3. Preheat oven to 200 C
  4. In the meantime you can begin to prepare the margarine mixture
  5. Melt the margarine in a small pot on the stove then whisk in the KNORR Roasted Vegetables Veggie Bake and allow to “cook” for 2 minutes
  6. Place the corn in an oven tray and brush with half the margarine mixture
  7. Wrap in corn with the bacon slices using a toothpick to secure the bacon on the underside then brush with the remaining margarine mixture
  8. Bake in the oven at 200 C for 15 minutes or until the bacon is crispy, basting frequently, then remove from the oven and serve
