Limpopo Covid-19 cases spike in last 24 hours

Most of the new cases were recorded in Polokwane and Ba-Phalaborwa.

LIMPOPO – The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Limpopo rose by almost 100 in the last 48 hours and now stands at 497, with 236 recoveries and four deaths.

According to a statement published by the Department of Health, the province reported 97 new cases in the last 48 hours; 24 on Thursday and 73 on Friday. Of the 97 cases recorded 23 are in Ba-Phalaborwa, 17 in Polokwane, 10 in Thulamela, 10 in Mogalakwena, eight in Lephalale, six in Greater Tzaneen, four in Giyani, four in Greater Letaba, three in Lepelle-Nkumpi, two in Fetakgomo Tubatse, two in Makhado, two in Thabazimbi, two in Elias Motswaledi, and one each in the Musina, Maruleng and Bela Bela areas, respectively.

Fetakgomo Tubatse now has 33 active cases and 129 recoveries.

The department confirmed that 257 cases are active. Four cases are in transit.
