Limpopo Covid-19 cases near 13 000 mark
The province saw an increase of 93 cases in the last 24 hours

LIMPOPO – According to the latest figures issued by the Limpopo Health Department, the province stands at 12 928 cases of which 766 are active. A total of 11 983 people have recovered and 179 deaths have been recorded.
A total of 93 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, of which the majority were reported in the Capricorn district. Polokwane had 18 new cases followed by Lepelle Nkumpi with five. Two cases each were recorded in Blouberg and Molemole.
Mopani, Sekhukhune and Waterberg had 18 new cases each.
In Mopani, Phalaborwa had six new cases and Greater Giyani, Letaba and Tzaneen each had one new case.
Sekhukhune’s new cases were recorded in Makhuduthamaga (7), Fetakgomo/Tubatse (6), Elias Motsoaledi (3) and Ephraim Mogale (2). Thabazimbi and Modimolle-Mookgophong recorded the most new cases in the Waterberg district, with six new cases respectively.
Three new cases were recorded in Mokgalakwena, two in Lephalale and two in Bela-Bela. The Vhembe district had 12 new cases of which seven was recorded in Makhado, four in Thulamela and one in Collins Chabane.
The Health Department confirmed that 81 027 tests were conducted of which 41 275 in the public sector and 39 752 in the private sector.
