23 more Covid-19 deaths in Limpopo
According to the Limpopo Department of Health, 12 491 people have recovered from the virus

LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Department of Health confirmed that 23 more people have died from Covid-19 in the province. This brings the death toll to 202 people.

The majority of these deaths were recorded in Polokwane (9). Three deaths were recorded in Tzaneen and Fetakgomo/Tubatse respectively, while Giyani, Elias Motsoaledi, Ephraim Mogale, Makhado, Thulamela, Bela-Bela, Mookgophong-Modimolle and Thabazimbi each recorded one death.
According to a statement released by the department, 12 491 people have recovered from the virus while there are currently 521 active cases. The province saw an increase of 98 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and currently stands at 13 214 cumulative cases.
The most new cases were recorded in the Capricorn district (56), of which 54 were in Polokwane and two were in Molemole.
The Vhembe district had 16 new cases of which eight were recorded in Makhado, seven in Thulamela and one in Musina.
Phalaborwa recorded the majority of the new cases in the Mopani district, with seven cases. The other cases in the district was recorded in Greater Tzaneen (2) and one each in Greater Giyani and Maruleng.
Four of the Waterberg’s new cases were recorded in Lephalale while Mookgophong-Modimolle had two new cases and Bela-Bela, Mokgalakwena and Thabazimbi each had one.
In the Sekhukhune district, six new cases were recorded. Four cases were recorded in Makhudutamaga, while Elias Motsoaledi and Fetakgomo/Tubatse each had one.
Thus far, 83 191 tests have been conducted of which 42 205 were done by the public sector and 40 986 were done by the private sector.
