EFF ‘thankful’ for bombing at Clicks Cycad

These were the words of the EFF Provincial Chairperson, Jossey Buthane, hours after the Clicks store at the Cycad Shopping Centre was vandalised.

POLOKWANE – “We do not condone the petrol-bombing incident at the Clicks store in the Cycad Shopping Centre, however, are thankful that it was done.”

These were the words of EFF’s Provincial Chairperson, Jossey Buthane when he addressed the crowds outside the Clicks store at the Seshego Circle Centre on Monday.

Clicks store at the Cycad Shopping Centre was damaged during a suspected petrol-bombing in the early hours of Monday morning. Video footage supplied to Review, shows an unknown man smashing the front window of the store. Thereafter, he flees the scene while what seems to be a petrol bomb, is thrown at the door.

According to Buthane the EFF does not know who is responsible for act but says he is ‘thankful it was done’.

Previously, the EFF had committed to ensure that the nationwide protest would be peaceful.

“The person responsible is also feeling the pain felt by the EFF. We don’t know this person, but we thank them. We are not saying go out and vandalise but we feel your pain and we are here for you.”

As part of the national shutdown action, the EFF went to various Clicks stores in Polokwane, enforcing the party’s directive in forcibly closing over 800 stores in the country. Several Clicks stores across the country have been damaged during protests this morning.
