Limpopo traffic cop killed by speeding bakkie on the N1

The 40-year-old man was stopping vehicles when he was knocked down by a speeding bakkie.

LIMPOPO – Khathutshelo Tshivenga, a 40-year-old traffic official, was killed by a speeding bakkie at a weighbridge on the N1, outside Louis Trichardt this morning.

The Department of Transport and Community Safety’s Media Liason Officer, Mike Maringa said preliminary investigations revealed that Tshivenga was stopping vehicles when he was knocked down by a speeding bakkie from the opposite direction.

“He was rushed to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” Maringa said.

MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has sent her condolences to the family and close colleagues.
