Three men at large following hijacking and murder in Limpopo
A 51-year-old man was killed, reportedly by three men he offered to give a lift to.
LIMPOPO – Three men are at large following the hijacking of a 51-year-old man in Maphalle village on Thursday.
A manhunt by the police in Bolebedu, outside Tzaneen has since been launched for the men, according to a statement by Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.
“The victim was in the company of his wife, who drove his vehicle from Gauteng to Ga-Maphalle village, when he found three men walking along the road. He apparently offered them a lift on an agreed payment to the nearby village of Makgakgapaji,” Mojapelo explained.
He said the men produced firearms and pointed it at the woman, who was pushed out of the vehicle in the process. They then drove off with the man.
Detectives and members of the Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) were notified and the vehicle was found along the gravel road at Maphalle village. The man’s body was found inside.
Mojapelo said the deceased has been identified as Peter Ramoshaba.
“The motive for the incident will be determined through unfolding police investigations.
