Yellow thunderstorm alert warning issued for parts of Limpopo
SA Weather Service says the storms may lead to flooding of low lying areas.
LIMPOPO – The weather service has issued a yellow thunderstorm alert for the south western parts of Limpopo. The service warns of severe thunderstorms and possible flooding of low lying areas today.
The weather service said hail of a damaging nature can also be expected.
⚠️ YELLOW WARNING ⚠️ for Thunderstorms for Gauteng, SW Limpopo, western and northern Highveld of Mpumalanga and E NW province on Sunday 11 October 2020.
Impacts:
1. Heavy rain leading to localized flooding of susceptible roads and low lying areas.

Areas to be affected include Mokopane, Modimolle, Mookgophong, Lephalale, Bela Bela, Thabazimbi, Elias Motsoaledi/Groblersdal and Ephraim Mogale/Marble Hall.
Rain is expected to continue and often lifts oil and debris from road surfaces which can result in slippery road conditions, therefore, drivers are advised to slow down and increase their following distances.
