[TAKE NOTE] N1 road closed just outside Polokwane
A petrol tanker overturned. The Fire Department and relevant stakeholders are on the scene.
POLOKWANE – The N1 road is closed, not the R101 road as previously reported. According to Media Liaison Officer for the department, Mike Maringa, the N1 south between the Polokwane Weighbridge and Meropa Casino is closed after a petrol tanker overturned.
The incident happened a few kilometres south of Polokwane and one lane is blocked. “Motorists travelling towards Polokwane will be redirected to R101 at Shell Ulta City. Motorists travelling towards Mokopane must join the R101 at Meropa.”

POLOKWANE – A section of the R101 road is closed after a petrol tanker overturned just south of Polokwane.
According to the Department of Transport the incident has resulted in a spillage and the road will be closed until further notice.
Meanwhile, the N1 Road is temporarily closed between the Polokwane Weighbridge and Meropa Casion few kilometres outside Polokwane. A petrol Tanker capsized and blocked one lane. Motorists travelling towards Polokwane are redirected to R101 at Shell Ulta and Those leaving Polokwane must join the R101 at Meropa.
