Raymond Papapavlou murder case remanded to March

Raymond Gregory Papapavlou (28) was shot and killed on a farm in the Rooikraal area outside Groblersdal on 5 October.

LIMPOPO – The case against Patricia Ray-Lee Smith (23) who was arrested in connection with the murder of Groblersdal farm manager, Raymond Gregory Papapavlou (28), was remanded to March. Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi, Regional Spokesperson for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Limpopo told Review that the case was on the court roll for 13 January and was remanded to 22 March for DPP decision.

Smith was arrested on Wednesday, 28 October. and was denied bail by the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on 9 November.

LIMPOPO – The case against Patricia Ray-Lee Smith (23) who was arrested in connection with the murder of Groblersdal farm manager, Raymond Gregory Papapavlou (28), was remanded to next year. Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi, Regional Spokesperson for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Limpopo told Review that the case was on the court roll for 2 December and was remanded to 13 January 2021 for further investigation.

Smith was denied bail by the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on 9 November.

Raymond Gregory Papapavlou (28) was shot and killed on a farm in the Rooikraal area outside Groblersdal on 5 October. According to an earlier police report, the police arrived on the scene to find the wife of the deceased with other members of the community.

The bullet-riddled body of the deceased was found in one of the rooms. Groblersdal Police Spokesperson, Adj Officer Stanley Magaela earlier said that Papapavlou was shot five times. There weren’t any signs of a struggle and Papapavlou was declared dead at the scene. He added that during the incident the wife reportedly shot several warning shots.

Smith was arrested on Wednesday, 28 October.

She reportedly used to work with the deceased and his wife and faces a charge of conspiracy to murder.
