The Best Fashion Designer Award went to Ripfumelo Shikwambana, who walked away with a R10 000 cash prize.
Limpopo’s Department of Sport, Arts and Culture received the Best Arts and Culture Department In The Country title for the 3rd time in a row, as well as an award for the province known for its richness in Cultural Diversity.
The head of department, Daphne Ramokgopa, received these awards and said this means a lot to the people of Limpopo and the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture.
“We never thought that the people of this country had confidence in us when we showcased our work of art and culture and sport in the province. We feel very proud to be one of the best. We want to make sure we strengthen our partnership with all the structures within the different municipalities,” said Ramokgopa.
As Limpopo, she said, we need to make sure that we stay number one.
“We want the artists from our beautiful province to nature their talent. As the province, we feel that we still need more resources to develop our artists. Those who didn’t make it should not to be discouraged, next time it will be them who get these awards. The South African Traditional Music Awards aims to showcase the richness of traditional music, encourage multicultural exchange among all the diverse citizens of South Africa and promote traditional music across racial and ethnic background,” she concluded.
