POLOKWANE – Overpacking begins when you take your suitcase out and pack everything you come across. One will then say ‘I think I can fit one more pair of shoesin’ and the next thing you know, the suitcase is full and can barely close.
Depending on your packing style and travel activities, you might have a tough time deciding which item to take and which one to leave behind.
Whether you are heading home for the December holidays, taking a break in the city or taking short visits to friends and family, here are some tips from the general public to help you pack.
David Sebopetsa: Take a smaller bag or a bag that will accommodate your traveling days. If you know you how many days you are going to stay then try to pack for those days and if you are to add extra make it two items not more than that.Joy Machubeni: Create enough time to pack so that you avoid packing during last-minute stages because that’s where a lot of people panic and start adding unnecessary items they know very well that they are not going to use.Phumzile Kolobe: Have a checklist of the most needed and important items. Avoid straying from the list because we tend to carry too much that we don’t need.Modjadji Baloyi: I have two separate bags for shoes and clothes. That way I know that I cannot go beyond the suitcase’s capacity.Kamva Bena: I prioritise items that are necessary first and fold the clothes as small as possible and pack them neatly. That way, more space is reserved and you won’t necessarily overpack.Fortunate Litseku: Plan your outfits and pick the right size suitcase that you know will not allow you to go overboard and pack everything in sight. I think three pairs of shoes are enough as long as they are in different patterns to accommodate you in case of the weather changes wherever you will be traveling to.For more breaking news follow us on FacebookTwitter Instagram or join our WhatsApp group
