Not only was Maisha Mokobane awarded Learner of the Year, he was annouced ast the Senior Victor Ludorum at Piet Hugo's awards ceremony.

POLOKWANE – With a smile on his face, Piet Hugo Primary School‘s Learner of the Year award winner walked onto the stage for the last time.

Maisha Mokobane made his parents and teachers proud as he received trophy after trophy during the school’s prizegiving.

“My success in school started almost on my first day in Gr R. I performed well in class as well as on the sport field,” he told the Polokwane Review.

Maisha was also announced Senior Victor Ludorum and plans to join the Tommy family at Technical High School Tom Naudé next year.

He says his goal was to do his best and give it all he can. “It was a surprise to receive all these trophies. I knew I was going to win trophies, but not so many. I felt good and felt that I have accomplished my goal of doing all that I can.

His dream is to work with cars and even make one on his own. His dad is his role model, as Maisha says he has a work ethic that is worth following.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family and for Christmas he would love a video game he stumbled upon.

Maisha received tropies for the following:
• Best boy sprinter.
• Best boy field athlete.
• Senior Victor Ludorum.
• Best first team rugby player of the year.
