LIMPOPO – In their efforts to intensively market Limpopo to guests and tourists as their holiday destination this summer, the MEC for the Department of Economic, Development, Environment and Tourism Rogers Monama officially launched the Limpopo Summer Campaign in Bela-Bela on November 10.
The campaign will run from November 2022 to April 2023 and will convert non-Limpopo visitors, including local residents who do not generally travel in the province, into regular holiday makers.
Monama has further called upon those operating within the Limpopo tourism sector to excel in their hospitality services as clients within the sector are not structured to forgive poor services.
He stressed that the Summer Campaign is a marketing activity undertaken by the Limpopo Tourism Agency to create awareness and market Limpopo as the festive season is fast approaching.
“It is important for Limpopo to stand out with propective tourists as they browse for adventurous, romantic, exotic, cultural, wild and fun-filled summer destinations.”
He added that last year this event coincided with Covid-19 pandemic which completely harassed the tourism industry to a point whereby it was forced to kneel.

“The collapse of the Tourism Sector directly affected other related sub-sectors in the tourism value chain. To this end, much effort was and still is required to recover the limping tourism industry. I am content with the plans LTA has developed as this will continuously make people aware of opportunities the province has and tourism offerings available for its people. I urge people to use this festive season to visit many destinations the province has on offer for reenergizing and recharging their bodies and minds to return to their work invigorated and productive. I call upon our people in the province to travel their areas more as this will help bring the industry back on its feet again as a resilient and reliable sector to boost the economy of our province.”
