Transport MEC pleas for drivers to be vigilant on the road

MEC Florence Radzilani is saddened by the recent amount of deaths reported on Limpopo roads and urges drivers to be careful and rest when tired.

LIMPOPO – Transport and Community Safety MEC Florence Radzilani urged drivers to obey the rules of the road, especially since the festive season is here.

She said this in a statement after an incident occurred on the N1 north in the direction of the Baobab toll gate in  the early hours of yesterday (November 21) morning.

Five people died in the head-on collision.

A few days earlier, another fatal incident cost the lives of nine people on the N1 road in the Mookgophong area.

Radzilani mentioned she is extremely saddened by these reports and sends her condolences to the loved ones of every person who lost their lives on the road.

She also wished a speedy recovery to those who survived the incidents and sustained injuries.

The MEC pleads with everyone behind the wheel to rest when they are tired to arive alive at their destinations, as well as to ensure their vehicle is roadworthy before they embark on a road trip.
