Traffic congestion a headache for R36 and R37 motorists

Transport spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said the congestion is caused by the rehabilitation of both roads by the South African Roads Agency.

LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety said it is attending to traffic congestion on the R36 between Tzaneen and Burgersdorp as well as the R37 in the Burgersfort area.
Reports have emerged of heavy congestion in both areas with motorists stuck for long periods of time.
Transport spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said the congestion is caused by the rehabilitation of both roads by the South African Roads Agency.
“Relevant government entities are engaging on the matter in order to ensure improved management of traffic flow and construction work,” a statement read.
As a result, motorists have been urged to exercise patience.
Chuene added that the department will continue to deploy traffic law enforcement officers at these areas during peak traffic periods to ease congestion while the matter is being addressed.
