Stormy weather predicted for Polokwane this week

A level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms has been put in place for Polokwane from midday on Monday.

POLOKWANE – Keep an umbrella near this week as thunderstorms are set to persist in the City of Stars.

A large part of the city woke up to lighting and thunder this morning as the week started off with rain.

According to AccuWeather’s forecast, the city will see up to a 90% chance of thundershowers this week with one forecast everyday.

The South African Weather Service has also issued a level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms in the city today (December 5) and it will be in place from midday to 23:59.

While rainy weather is predicted, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected in the city which will result in humid conditions throughout the week.

Maximum temperatures will range in the mid to high twenties and low thirties.

Monday will be the warmest day of the week at 31ºC, while Wednesday (December 7) will cool down to 22ºC.

Minimum temperatures will remain in the high teens.
