24-hour planned shutdown to affect water supply to Polokwane

Polokwane, Seshego, Mankweng and other areas will be affected by a 24-hour planned shutdown at the Ebenezer Scheme by Lepelle Northern Water.

POLOKWANE – Water supply to the city will be affected by a 24-hour shutdown of the Ebener Scheme on Wednesday (December 14). 

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said Lepelle Northern Water will be conducting a number of activities on the line that supplies water to the Polokwane Municipality.

Other planned activity includes:

– Repairs of a pipeline leak at Mamahule and Ebenezer Dam; 

– Replacement of a leaking air valve on the line; 

– Removal of illegal connection; 

– Installation of a filter valve; and 

– Replacement of a needle valve at the pump station. 

Selala said this will affect water supply to all areas the City, Seshego, Mankweng and Segwashi.

“The municipality will provide temporary relief of water supply in the form of water tankers to all affected areas until supply is restored,” a statement read.
