The Limpopo police urge stockvel members to make use of electronic banking instead of cash to minimise incidents like this.

Hadebe’s warning follows an armed robbery in the Ga-Mamabolo area on Satuday (December 10) of R60 000 in cash from stockvel members.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the stockvel group gathered in Tshware village, Ga- Mamabolo on Saturday morning to share their monthly contributions when they were accosted by two armed suspects.
“The suspects ordered everyone to lie down before they took all the money and fled the scene. The group were locked in a room,” he said.

Hadebe said incidents like this are often reported, especially this time of the year.
“This method obviously attracts criminals. Stockvel members are advised to make use of EFT’s which minimizes crimes of this nature,” she said.
Ledwaba has urged anyone with information about the two suspects to contact the investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Samuel Malemela on 076 749 8403, the nearest police station 08600 10111 or the MySAPSApp
“Police investigations continue,” his statement read.
