Jack Rams says podcasts make for the perfect pass-time

Media personality Jack Rams says podcasts are a great way to keep the youth busy as there are many shows tailored to their specific needs.

POLOKWANE – Broadcaster and producer, Jack Rams says young people should make use of podcasts to pass time this festive season.

There is a growing preference, especially among the youth, to watch a series of documented videos posted on YouTube in place of television and radio.

In order to avoid crime-related incidents and to promote guaranteed safety, he advises parents to also encourage their children to watch them. “Most podcasts are around 30 minutes to an hour so you can be sure that your children are safe in the house,” he says.

Children often need something to keep them busy while their parents are tied up with household tasks and the podcast content creator says they can find shows tailored to their specific needs.

“These platforms allow them to absorb lots of information that will improve their attention, memory, imagination, curiosity and communication skills,” he remarked.

Jack’s career in the media industry spans 14 years and his fast-growing podcast ‘Jack Rams Online’ under Mega Artists Media already has over 10 episodes.

His interests in podcasting include the opportunity to control the direction of information, without regulatory filters. He has interviewed some local groundbreaking influencers and artists such as Jojo Manjaro, Lekkersweet, and Matalane Mokgatla

He encourages anyone who feels there is important information to share with the rest of the world to start a podcast this festive season because there is no need to worry about the audience not watching or listening at the time of broadcast. Jack says a viewer can download or stream and play it anytime, even while jogging or commuting to work.

“All you need is a computer or smartphone, software to record your presentation and a connection to upload it to the Internet. Do your research on whatever topic you want to discuss and get the right people. That’s just about it,” he adds.

For anyone who would like to be a part of his podcast, either for support or an interview, contact Jack directly and subscribe to his channel.

“Contact me on jackrams@megaartists.co.za, 076 556 7167, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,” he concludes.
