Sho’t left to these destinations this festive season – Ledet MEC

Ledet MEC Rodgers Monama urges holiday makers to take advantage of the beauty Limpopo has to offer.

POLOKWANE – The festive season is a time to unwind and what better way than to arrange a much-needed getaway within the province.

The Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism MEC Rodgers Monama wants to let residents in on refreshing stops one can make along with loved ones in the province.

The department has a duty to support government-owned holiday-destinations and make them know to the people.

Monama says heritage sites such as those in Bokone-Malapa, Makapansvalley, the Drakensburg, Mapungubwe, Dzata Ruins and the Museum of the Drum and Tsate are ideal for the youth to learn about the history of the baobab province.

“Our young people become even more confident when they know about their history. They develop a unshaken foundation in life,” he remarks.

Within the mountainous areas of the north part of South Africa, lie premium wildlife, in nature reserves.

These destinations are Monama’s favourite as he says it allows him to think clearer about his work plans as a top provincial government official.

“Also I like noting down my thoughts, so imagine me just relaxing alone with a fresh breeze watching elephants, girraffes and zebras pass by from a distance,” he told the Polokwane Review-Observer.
