Sho’t left for bikers in mass ride to lowveld

A mass ride with bikers from all over the country aimed to build relationships and learn from one another.

LIMPOPO – Bikers from Limpopo, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng took to the road to travel 362km to the lowveld of Mpumalanga for a mass ride from March 24-26.

According to one of the organisers, Guthra Lee the trip from Vhembe to Mpumalanga was an exceptional experience.

“The ride aimed to remind members of the various clubs about their targets and purpose. It was not a club ride, but one that was open to all bikers in the country. We want to build relationships, share and learn with and from each other. The mass ride saw bikers embark on a journey from Thohoyandou to Nelspruit to the excitement of fellow road users. Bikers from Polokwane, Secunda and Vhembe, as well as independent riders, took part in the ride which saw bikers show off their skills,” said Lee.

He said the weekend ride went according to plan.

“We didn’t experience any injuries or accidents. All the bikers had fun and still wanted to ride in the next event. We hope that we will now have more bikers to join us on our weekend rides,” he said.

Lee thanked everyone who joined the trip.

“We also want to thank Sanral for partnering with us on this ride. We earlier attended a Sanral bikers workshop about safety, which was very insightful. We hope to reach out to more sponsors since we plan on expanding the event. We want to build relationships, and share and learn with and from each other. The aim is to establish clear short-term goals and methods for celebrating achievements and milestones of the club and individual members,” he concluded.
