Residents share their fondest Easter memories

The Polokwane Review spoke to the community to find out their fondest memory of Easter.

POLOKWANE – Easter weekend is upon us and preparations are underway to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Although a majority of people celebrate this day by spending time at church, the festivities that occur thereafter differ with every family.

The Polokwane Review spoke to the community to find out their fondest memory of Easter.

Jim Ramoroko: I remember spending a lot of time at church, which I still do to this day. It is a time to reflect on the fact that we are saved. We would also have holy communion at church. As a result of my upbringing, I love the Lord with all my heart and soul. I abide by him no matter what.
Minky Manasoe: For me, memories of Easter include hot cross buns and church. Easter Sunday was spent with candles at the cemetery.
Mahlatse Baloyi: Easter memories take me back to times of visiting my grandmother for storytelling sessions and sharing gifts with family.
Tebogo Baloyi: Starting the day at church with my siblings and grandmother in the rural areas then coming back to have seven colours lunch with a variety of drinks and just enjoying the company of family united on Easter.
Sipho Napo: I recall my Easter filled with lots of love. We would wake up and prepare for church then spend the entire service thinking of the hearty meal that we would have after church. I think the best part of Easter was the food we got to enjoy.
