POLOKWANE – The city’s water supply will once again be affected by a planned water shutdown.

The Polokwane Municipality said the planned shutdown of the Olifantspoort Plant by Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is to allow for repairs of a delivery valve at pump station two.

The 10-hour shutdown is planned for Wednesday (April 12) and municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said water supply to all areas within municipal bounds will be affected.

“Temporary relief will be provided through water tankers to all affected areas and supply will be restored once LNW has completed repairs,” his statement read.

Selala urged residents to report water related challenges promptly to the dedicated Water and Sanitation Call Centre so the municipality can come to their aid.
