Tylor to head contemporary ballet classes at Northern Academy
Tylor van Rooyen hopes to develop future choreographers and professional dancers through her classes and sessions.
POLOKWANE- Northern Academy Secondary School has appointed Tylor van Rooyen as a contemporary ballet teacher from July 1.
Van Rooyen is a gold medallist from Gauteng, and has represented the province at various national events.
“I will be teaching contemporary ballet, that incorporates elements of classical ballet and modern dance. I will infuse it with jazz and acrobatic classes.”
She says through the classes and her sessions, she hopes to develop future choreographers and professional dancers.
“Ballet is therapeutic, and keeps one’s body in top condition. It is important for learners to exercise, as a healthy body leads to good results in the classroom. There is discipline and poise that come with ballet. Our classes are exciting and we want more learners to join.”
Fred Romijn, the headmaster at Northern Academy Secondary School, said learners will benefit from her expertise.
“We wish her well in her classes and we’re sure learners will enjoy this new venture.”
