Couple busted with crystal meth at estate in Polokwane
The couple was followed by members of the provincial Crime Intelligence Narcotics Unit before their arrest at 05:30 on Wednesday morning at an estate in Ivydale.
POLOKWANE – A 38-year-old foreign national and his 22-year-old South African girlfriend will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of dealing drugs following their arrest early on Wednesday morning.
The duo were arrested by the provincial Crime Intelligence Narcotics Unit at an estate in Ivydale west of Polokwane.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the unit were informed about the suspects transporting drugs from Gauteng to Polokwane and that an intelligence driven operation was conducted.
“The said vehicle was followed until it reached an estate in Ivydale on the outskirts of Polokwane. A search was conducted inside the vehicle and members found crystal meth to a street value of approximately R80 000. The drugs as well as the vehicle were confiscated,” his statement read.
The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the team for their prompt response which led to the arrest of the suspects and ridding the province of criminal activity and drug related crimes.
