Polokwane Chemical Supplies celebrates 30 years in business

Polokwane Chemical Suppliers CEO Walter Mampane said their 30th birthday brings a sense of pride for what they've accomplished and are inspired by the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

POLOKWANE – Celebrating three successful decades in the hygiene product industry, Polokwane Chemical Suppliers (PCS) hosted an event at Fusion Boutique Hotel on Saturday to share the memorable moment with clients, partners, friends and family.

Polokwane Chemical Suppliers was founded in 1993 by CEO Walter Mampane and his wife, Melita.

On Saturday, Shonisani ‘Ashifashabba’ Muleya acted as programme director for the day.

PCS longstanding partner, Rodney Sanders from the RBM Business Hub said it was a huge privilege to share such a milestone of 30 years with Polokwane Chemical Suppliers.

“I’ve worked with so many businesses and it is like they have become part of my DNA. I hope Polokwane Chemical Suppliers grows into a national brand as their product and service are excellent.”

Another longstanding partner to address guests was from Sensory Fx, a local manufacturer of perfume.

Joe Mohahama read a message from the company’s founder, Johan du Plessis in honouring their partnership with Polokwane Chemical Suppliers.

“Today it is with both pride and admiration that I can congratulate you on your achievement. Supplying customers with good quality products as you have done for 30 years, is truly exemplary. Congratulations.”

Social development beneficiary Maria Kale and project manager from the Mahlahlela Drop-In Centre, expressed their gratitude on Polokwane Chemical Suppliers donating a fully furnished house to them.

Supplier development beneficiary, Lebogang Maja on behalf of Lehlogedi Clothing and Embroidery, said through Polokwane Chemical Suppliers they were able to buy new sewing machines and that she hoped their enterprise could achieve the same longevity in the business industry.

The keynote address at the event was delivered by business leader and marketing veteran, Happy Ntshingila who shared a few words as motivation.

“An eagle is meticulous. It hunts alone and it will never miss its target because it knows that if it misses, it may never get a second chance. Take that mindset into business. Never miss any opportunities that are presented to you. I encourage everyone who wants to go into business to do it right or don’t do it at all. Build trust in the work place. When you’re in business, stick with the realm competency of a name and stick to your own knitting,” he said.

Mampane and his wife delivered a special appreciation message to their employees, for the role they play in the business’s success, as well as to the Ntshingila family who took the time to share the day with them.

“A huge ‘thank you’ to our PCS team for your hard work. Everyone among you played a very important role. I appreciate our general manager, Freeda who has given years of dedication to the company. A special thanks to Maggie and her associates who were at the frontlines to organise this event. I’m proud of you,” he said.

Reflecting on their big milestone, Mampane said Polokwane Chemical Suppliers currently has more than 100 employees.

“We appreciate the contribution of our re-sellers, longstanding partners and advertisers. We’re happy that everyone here has a story linked to PCS. Thank you to my wife, children and my in-laws for your continuous support. As we celebrate 30 years in business, we are filled with pride for what we have accomplished and inspired by the limitless possibilities that lie ahead. We are committed to remaining a trusted leader for community and environmental commitment, and we invite all our stakeholders to join us in shaping a brighter and more sustainable future. Thank you for being a part of our remarkable journey.”
