Premier Ramathuba announces new executive council

The newly elected Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba said the individuals appointed as MEC's bring a wealth of experience, dedication and a deep commitment to serving people.

POLOKWANE – Hitting the ground running, newly elected Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba announced the Members of the Executive Council (MECs) of the seventh administration of the province at a media briefing held at her office at Mowaneng House in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

Members of the previous administration who will return to office are Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya (Education) and Basikopo Rogers Makamu (Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs).

Former MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Fulufhelo Florence Radzilani (Social Development), while former MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Nakedi Grace Kekana will be the new MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Ramathuba’s former position as MEC for Health will be occupied by Dieketseng Masesi Mashego and the other new faces are Funani Jerry Maseko (Sport, Arts and Culture), Kgabo Elias Mahoai (Provincial Treasury), Tshitereke Baldwin Matibe (Economic Development, Environment and Tourism), Sebataolo Ernest Rachoene (Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure) and Susani Violet Mathye (Transport and Community Safety).

“The individuals I have appointed to the executive council bring a wealth of experience, dedication and a deep commitment to serving our people. They have been chosen for their proven track records, their expertise in their respective fields and their unwavering commitment to the values and principles that underpin our democracy,” the premier said.

“As we embark on this journey together, our primary focus will be on addressing the pressing challenges that our province faces, including economic growth, unemployment, job creation, industrialisation, agriculture and rural development, water provision, roads and general infrastructure development, healthcare, education and crime. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and transparent government that works tirelessly to improve the lives of all our citizens,” Ramathuba assured.

“I call upon all citizens of Limpopo to join us in this endeavour. Your active participation, feedback and collaboration are essential as we strive to build a better future for all. Let us move forward with unity, determination and a shared commitment to the progress and well-being of our province,” she concluded.
