POLOKWANE – Mohurutshe Matlala, Lesedi Manaka, and Boitumelo Mabelebele share more than just classrooms and uniforms at Technical High School Tom Naudé – they also excel in soccer.

The talented trio’s performance throughout the year caught the attention of scouts, earning them a place on the Limpopo team that competed at the KZN Interprovincial Tournament in Durban this September.

The Limpopo team finished third, a proud achievement for the three players. “It’s a big thing for us,” they agreed, reflecting on the tournament experience.

Boitumelo Mabelebele, who first made a name for himself at Northview Christian Academy, sees soccer as a gateway to many opportunities.

“With soccer, I can achieve a lot of things. I’d love to play in the PSL and travel overseas,” he shared.

Besides playing for his school, Boitumelo is also part of the Limpopo Sports School of Excellence, further honing his skills.

Mohurutshe Matlala, another aspiring professional, plays for the Fast Feet Development Club.

“We train every day after school and have additional practices on Fridays and Saturdays at the club,” he said.

According to Lesedi Manaka, the sport brings discipline to the table. “If you stay consistent, you will be good,” he said, adding that one needs to stay dedicated.

With their sights set on professional soccer careers, these young athletes continue to balance their education with their passion for the game, determined to make the most of every opportunity.
