Brink of success for former PEPPS alumni

Kamogelo Molapo (23) is set to become an attorney after graduating with an LLB degree and completing her articles of clerkship.

POLOKWANE – At just 23 years old, former PEPPS learner Kamogelo Molapo is on the brink of being admitted as an attorney, following a path marked by determination and hard work.

Molapo, who matriculated from PEPPS in 2018 with a Bachelor’s pass and distinctions, initially aimed to pursue accounting. Her journey took an unexpected turn, she tells Review. “I didn’t get into accounting, which was my first choice.”

A skilled debater, she opted for her second choice – law – and enrolled for an LLB degree at the University of Limpopo. Soon after, she received an offer to study accounting at another university but decided to stick with law. “I realised I was meant to be where I was. At 17, I was the youngest in my class, ready to become one of tomorrow’s leaders.”

Transitioning from high school to university was challenging, but Molapo stayed focused. “I was determined to complete my degree in record time, and I did – without failing a single module.” Graduating at 21, she went on to law school, where her outstanding participation earned her a position at Espag Magwai Attorneys.

In June 2023, she started her articles of clerkship and took on the rigorous Board Exams, passing all four modules on her first attempt. With this achievement, she fulfilled all the requirements to qualify as an attorney. “It wasn’t easy, but I stayed focused on my goal and persevered,” Molapo said.

She encourages others to follow their dreams with unwavering dedication. “To my fellow ‘Peppsies’ and young people with big dreams, know that it is possible. Work hard, show up as the best version of yourself, and seize every opportunity. Always remember: the future depends on what you do today.”
