PEMPS hosts Gr R fun day

The PEMPS Gr R Tiger Cup Tournament brings together learners, families, and teachers for a fun-filled day of sports and celebration.

POLOKWANE – Each year, parents, families, and the Gr R learners of PEMPS come together on a Saturday to mark the end of the year with a special celebration.

At the heart of this tradition is the PEMPS Gr R Tiger Cup Tournament, an event eagerly anticipated by every young learner.

In the days leading up to the big day, teams practice diligently, and the cheerleaders perfect their dance routines to ensure an energetic and vibrant atmosphere.

On the tournament day, the Gr R playground comes alive with teams clad in yellow, blue, and red bibs and T-shirts, joined by supporters proudly sporting matching colours.

Gazebos are set up, picnic baskets are unpacked, and vuvuzelas echo across the grounds, creating a lively and joyous environment.

Adding to the excitement, each team has a dedicated motivator – either a teacher or parent – who keeps the players inspired and focused throughout the games.

Although referees occasionally have to hand out yellow cards here and there, it never dampens the spirit of the day.
