Bennie Boekwurm’s karate kids shine at awards

Little Ninja Academy celebrates young karatekas at annual prizegiving, where learners from Bennie Boekwurm Pre-school Polokwane shone.

POLOWANE – Little Ninja Academy held their annual prizegiving at Zurel College dojo on Saturday, where learners from Bennie Boekwurm Pre-school Polokwane were awarded for their hard work and successfully adjusting to classes throughout the year.

Wanga Machete, Vhahangwele Netshitondani, Tshegofatso Tefu, Lennon Mushonga, Hope Mntambo, Kwetsima Mathebula and Hlonolofatso Mabjana were awarded for their improvement, hard work and dedication in their classes and competitions.

During the year, the little ninja kids were trained to be better in every session, and sensei Annatjie de Jager told Review that the classes also helped them become more flexible, stronger and faster in a fun and interactive way.

“There were different levels to achieve during the classes, and they were also taught the importance of hard work and the rewards earned from it. We train the karatekas to improve discipline, self-control and confidence,” De Jager said.

She added that the learners will learn self-defence basics, which will be a valuable asset throughout their lives into adulthood. “All seven of these little ninjas excelled and were rewarded with certificates and medals. These activities can be learnt by any pre-school child during school hours.”
