Polokwane designer shares DIY secrets for a magical Christmas

The holiday season is the perfect opportunity to get creative and make your home feel welcoming and festive.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane interior designer Desiree Reed shares her expert advice on decorating your home for the festive season.

“The holiday season is a time for joy, giving, and celebration,” Reed says. “It’s also the perfect opportunity to get creative and make your home feel welcoming and festive.”

Reed suggests starting with a fun and easy DIY project, like decorating a Christmas tree with homemade ornaments or making a festive flower wreath for your front door.

“To make a beautiful flower wreath, you’ll need a few simple materials, including a wreath base, faux pine branches, artificial flowers, and some hot glue,” Reed explains.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to making your own Christmas flower wreath:

Materials needed:

– 1 prepared wreath base (approximately 23″ diameter)
– Faux pine branches or other artificial greenery
– Large, medium, and small faux roses
– Faux pinecones, golden balls, mini bells, or other accents
– Wire cutters
– Hot glue

Instructions:

1. Create a greenery base by inserting pine branches into the wreath base, securing with hot glue.
2. Add flowers by trimming the stems and attaching with hot glue.
3. Embellish with accents like pinecones, golden balls, and mini bells.
4. Hang your beautiful new wreath and enjoy!

Reed says, “A homemade flower wreath is a thoughtful and personalized touch that will add warmth and welcome to your home this holiday season.”
